SM Recycling Market converts Trash to Cash

  •

Cauayan City, Isabela – A joint project of SM Supermalls with the National Solid Waste Management Committee, Philippine Business for the Environment, and, local government unit, SM Recycling Market promotes proper waste management in the community where SM malls are located.

SM enjoins households to collect and sort out their household recyclable throwaways like paper, plastic, metal, and glass waste – and turn to cash thru the recycling market.

Introduced in 2007, Trash-to-Cash Recycling Market is held every first Friday and Saturday of the month at all SM malls. In SM City Cauayan, Trash-to-Cash Recycling Market is at the MRF area (back of the mall, along Africano St.) Mall tenants’ and office recyclables are being exchange for cash in the recycling market. For the month of February, it is conducted on February 2-3, 2018.

SM's Trash to Cash Recycling Market was first implemented in 2007 to raise awareness on SM's environmental efforts and provide a public incentive to properly recycle all waste materials. This initiative has gained widespread participation from our customers and communities. (PR)
