Cagayan Valley Region and the Arts


    Cauayan City, Isabela – A celebration of Cagayan Valley’s visual arts unfolded at SM City Cauayan when My City, My SM, My Art makes a stop in Isabela recently.

    Visual artists from the provinces of Cagayan, Isabela, Nueva Vizcaya and Batanes took center stage from August 8-14 at SM City Cauayan’s Cinema Bridgeway, as part of the mall’s campaign of bringing art closer to the community.

    Among the featured artists are; Yuan Mor’O Ocampo, Patrick Chong and Victor Manangan of the province of Isabela. Dexter Bigayan and Marlin Lopez of Nueva Vizcaya. Cagayano Artists Group Inc. and Jen Consumido of the province of Cagayan and Yaru Nu Artes Ivatan of Batanes. Said event also gave tribute to Pacita Abad, an internationally-known Ivatan artist.

    My City, My SM, My Arts is a cultural roadshow celebrating visual arts – painting, sculpture, printmaking, photography and filmmaking around the Philippines. The event highlights the works of masters, modernists and millennials.


    The campaign advocates art for all, they are working with communities to mount exhibits, workshops and contests in key cities around the Philippines. It highlights its advocacy of bringing people and art together and their passion for art and culture in various cities where SM has malls.


    My City, My SM, My Art is a campaign spearheaded by the SM Publicity Department under Senior Vice President for Marketing Communication Group – Publicity Ms. Millie F. Dizon, and in partnership with the Metropolitan Museum of Manila, Shell Philippines, The Philippine Star with support from the National Commission for Culture and the Arts, and Centerstage Productions.



    It is the latest from My City, My SM campaign which aims to promote tourism. It includes My City, My SM, My Cuisine that highlights culinary specialties of host cities; and My City My SM, My Craft, a celebration of traditional arts and modern designs. (PR)
